Too Much Time on My Hands
So I made this soap and it smells like lemon bundt cake. It also kinda looks like one...don't you think? It was very involved and the fact that I made it means I have way too much time on my hands. But no so much that I didn't make beads. Here's some cool (IMO) silvered beads. And by "cool," I mean "came out okay unlike 80% of what I do."

More Soap and New Beads
I just packaged up some soap and put it in my etsy shop. I thought I'd share some of it with you guys (and by guys, I mean just me, because nobody actually reads this blog, lol). The soap is green tea and ginger. It smells sweet and tasty to me...also I think it's pretty cute. The beads are made with gold shards on a dark teal background. I like it a lot (you have to say that in that funny accent to appreciate the comment...you know the one I mean).

On Getting Burned
So, I like to make lampwork beads...you know, torch, rod of glass, mandrel, kiln, the whole 9. In other words, playing with fire is my shtick. The only thing about that is that as the old saying goes, sometimes when you play with fire you get burned....and that's exactly what happened to me. Well, at least that's what happened to my fingernail. I totally burned the tip of it off. But check this, I didn't burn my finger. Just the tip of the nail. What is it they say about God protecing babies and fools. Anyway, here's what I was making when the fingernail bit the dust, they're on my etsy (www.esty.com/shop/Redayh)..hope you them:

2nd.
So I dont' know how well I'm going to do at blogging, but I'm here for a second time, so that says something. I've done plenty of things less than twice, so as far as I can see, I'm ahead of the game. I just made the world's cutest soap. It's called lemon pound cake and it kinda makes you think of one and smells just like one. But it's not ready, so I figure why tempt the masses with a pic (also I'm too lazy to take one). But in the interim, Here's a couple of other things I made. Some soap (naturally)..this one is Peppermint and Eucalyptus. It smells all spa-y and looks kinda cute too if I must say so myself. I really love round soap...it fits nicely in the hand. Also pictured is a pearl and silver bracelet I made...both are on my etsy.

First! (Don't you hate that?)
First. blog. ever.
Congratulate me!
So, here's what I've been making lately....handmade soap and bridesmaid jewelry (yeah, I know that doesn't match and I think there's a joke in here somewhere about dirty bridesmaids, but I digress). Here's some good old fashioned kitchen-witchy soap in Lavendar and in Oatmeal Milk and Honey. Both in my etsy shop (www.etsy.com/Redayh). These are simple bars, which I love, but I'm getting more adventurous in terms of design so stay tuned.
Also a friend and a friend are getting married (really two separate friends who met on the couch while I was sitting next to them, which makes for a great story and gives me total matchmaker street cred) and their wedding colors are teal and copper and I was asked to make some jewelry. I was totally happy to oblige.
Wow, first blog completed. I feel all accomplished. I shall now drink some wine.
